The story of the STC Group has been one of continual drive and expansion. It began in 1974 when a team of traders with over ten years’ experience in rice milling joined forces to establish the Saeng Thai Bangpakong Co., Ltd. The company began with warehousing in the tapioca business, but quickly expanded into a major purchasing and trading centre for rice export.

Capital Rice Co., Ltd.

Established in 1977, Capital Rice Co., Ltd., has been one of Thailand’s top rice exporters, and well recognized worldwide for its long years of remarkable performances, trustworthiness, and efficiency. Its strength lies in effectiveness of production of high standard quality products, introduction of advanced technology, adoption of modern machinery to enhance productivity and competency, and more importantly, promptness of transportation and services.

Capital Cereals Co., Ltd.

In response to increasingly high demand of rice in the world market, Capital Cereals Co., Ltd., was inaugurated in 2004 in Ayudhaya province to strengthen processing production capacity over two million tons per year to consistently supply of rice for export. Capital Cereals also invested in 208 round concrete silo bins, and spacious warehousing with storage capacity of rice, totally 400,000 tons.

Capital Chai Nat Rice Mill Co., Ltd.

Established since October 2012, Capital Chai Nat Rice is situated on an area of about 650 rai, in Sappaya District, Chainat Province, operating rice production with the capacity of 1,200 tons per day. Two warehouses for paddy storage of 140,000 tons, along with the paddy dryer unit, render production capacity of 2,800 tons per day.
On the storage system, Capital Rice Chai Nat has two old warehouses with the capacity of 400 tons for storing rice jumbo bags. The old silo system includes 4 big silo bins with the capacity of 6.000 tons, and 4 small silo bins, capable of 3,200 tons storage. Relating to the production line, the steamer, with the paddy production capacity of 700 tons /day, and the parboiled rice mill, capable of 600 tons /day in the rice production, are completely well equipped.
In conclusion, silo bins of the parboiled rice mill, the dried parboiled paddy silo includes 21 silo bins @85 tons each, 7 parboiled rice silo bins for 800 tons of brown rice , and 36 silo bins for 5,200 tons of parboiled rice storages.
The rice mill for white rice, is capable of stripping 1,000 tons/day of paddy, 500 tons/day of rice,
The silo system in the rice mill possesses 50 old silo bins @ 100 tons each, makes 5,000 tons in all.

1977

Established Capital Rice to be a rice trading and exporting company, setting up the Head Office in Songwat, Samphanthawong district, Bangkok.

1979

Expanded to a wider spacious area for the construction of a new warehouse in Prapadaeng district of Samutprakarn province.

1981

Mahawong warehouse was inaugurated. The volume of domestic & international rice trade increased significantly.

1987

Received Best Exporter Award from the Thai Government on agricultural products which earned great revenues for the country.

1988

Received the Best Quality of Thai Exported Products in the category of Rice from the Thai Government

1991

Capital Rice and Chiangmai Chaiwiwat Rice Mill associated with its co-trader; Riseria Monferano of Italy, foreseeing that the consumers’ demand for organic rice was obviously potential, and thus, being supported by the government sector, Department of Agricultural Techniques, cooperatively planned to develop the rice organic scheme for the first time in Thailand. The program was certified by Bioagricert.

1992

Received Original Quality Thai Rice Logo Award from the Department of Export Promotion to entrust the premium quality rice from Thailand. (1992)

1993

Firstly exported the organic rice to the global market. The production area stretched along the border line of Chiangrai and Payao provinces whereas a certified area included 5,000 rai (1,976.77 acres) with productivity up to 3,000 tons per year.

1994

Moved the Head Office to Thai Sri Tower serving as administration office up to now.

1995

Received Gold Medal Award for Great Harvest, Organic Jasmine Rice Project, categorized as consuming product in the Outstanding Marketing Competition 19941995, jointly organized by Thailand Business Management Association and the Faculty of Commerce and Accountancy, Thammasat University.

Business expansion continued, a certain number of silo bins were built up at Bangsai district of Ayudhaya province

1998

onward: Maintained the top rice exporter of Thailand, average annual export of 1.4 million tons for over the past 4 years.

2000

Received the Prime Minister’s Export Award 2000 for Outstanding Performance as the Best Exporter. In addition, it is a proud recipient of Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point (HACCP) certificate – proof of its products’ quality and safety. And moreover, the Department of Export Promotion conferred Thailand Brand Award on Capital Rice.

2002

Took pride in being cited by the United Nation’s ICM (Integrated Commodity Management) recognition. The United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) initiated a pilot project on Integrated Commodity Management (ICM) to identify effective alternative infestation control systems, and to integrate existing and new procedures correctly and effectively into the system of quality and pest management.

2003

Selected as one of Thailand 57 Prominent Enterprises by the Bangkok Post newspaper.

Also published by the Brooker Group, a research company, as one of the 150 best known business families in Thailand.

2004

Received the prestigious Best Exporter Award from the Thai Government categorized as the Export Honorary Recognition on the 10th anniversary of Prime Minister’s Export Award.

2009

Received SR Mark (Social Responsibility Mark) Award given by the Department of Export Promotion, the award which symbolizes partnership through contract farming, to improve the quality of life for Thai farmers, and to contribute to building a sustainable economy.

2011

Exported the largest number of over 2 million tons of rice, making a volume record of rice exports ever to the world market.

Rice product brand name “Great Harvest” of Capital Rice received product award 2009 – 2010 in category of the packed Jasmine rice which maintained consistently invariable quality standard for the sixth consecutive years.

The organic rice project attained its 20 years unfolding, covering the whole area of about 5,721 rai (2,261.9 acres) at present, increasing from 3,000 rai (1,186.1 acres) in the past, along the adjacent districts of Theong, Chiangrai, and Chun, Payao.

2012

Established Capital Chai Nat Rice Mill Co., Ltd. to produce parboiled rice in Sappaya district of Chai Nat Province.

2016

Joined force of 3 to start health food production line led by “KD Care” packed high energy, low protein rice to break into the markets of healthy foods for the sick and elderly that directly address their health issues.

2018

KD Care health food was awarded 1st Prize in rice innovation competition of 2018, for its low protein rice which is a healthy food suitable for patients who are required to control their protein intake such as those with kidney disease.

Capital Chai Nat Rice Mill was certified ISO 9001:2015 by SGS Thailand Limited, one of the world’s leading inspection, verification, testing and certification companies and a globally well respected independent Evaluation Monitor (IEMs). The certification confirms Capital Chai Nat Rice Mill Co., Ltd. has in place a Quality Management System of required international levels of Quality and standards.
